Story Bridge

The Story Bridge was opened in July 1940 and is a cantilever bridge that crosses over the Brisbane River from Fortitude Valley to Kangaroo Point. It is named after the public servant John Douglas Story who was the Public Service Commisioner from 1920 to 1939. Underneath the bridge on the Kangaroo Point side is the famous Story Bridge Hotel. There's also a fantastic climbing adventure that takes you across the bridge on a 2 and a half hour climb. It runs at dawn, day, dusk and night so you can have a different experience each time.
