The Great Spavaldos
Put on your video goggles and headphones and enter the world of the circus as a daredevil high-flying trapeze artist.
The Great Spavaldos brothers were fearless trapeze artists; performers of such strength and surety that all who witnessed their daredevil feats were spellbound. Lost in the mists of time and legend, their disappearance has become one of the world’s great mysteries. Whether it was love or fate that saw their demise, no ones knows – until now.
Through a mixture of theatre and cinema you will ‘see’ the anarchic circus world; ‘hear’ and ‘speak’ to mysterious characters; and ‘feel’ what it’s like to fly 60 feet above the ground. Live out your dream where fear is irrelevant and flying high on a trapeze is all in a day’s work.
The Great Spavaldos is an immersive theatrical experience designed for two people at a time. Created by Il Pixel Rosso, it is the follow up to their sold-out show And The Birds Fell From The Sky, which stunned audiences at WTF 2012. Il Pixel Rosso is the combined creative genius of Silvia Mercuriali, pioneer of the ‘Autoteatro’ style of performance, and Simon Wilkinson, multi-award-winning artist and filmmaker.
An audience participation show like none other, The Great Spavaldos is an out-of-body experience that’s the most fun you’ll have this side of lion taming.
Patrons with glasses are encouraged to wear contact lenses.
