The Blokes Project by Joshua Thomson & Matt Cornell

The Blokes Project is a new dance work performed on a shipping container. Generated through research with family and community elders in their truck yards, sheds and vehicles, Blokes investigates the embodied myths, truths and stereotypes of how to be Australian. Exploring seemingly inherited cultural narratives of manhood, how do these models of behaviour serves us and hurt us as individuals and as a community.

In an age of toxic masculinity, how can we turn the critical lens on ourselves to build a new narrative of how to be a BLOKE?
