Silvie Paladino supported by Brisbane City Temple Band
Musical theatre fans from across Brisbane will have the chance to experience the talent of one of Australia’s most versatile and talented entertainers, Silvie Paladino, thanks to a concert series being presented next month by The Salvation Army.
The concert series, on Saturday 12 September 2015 in Brisbane’s CBD, will see Paladino supported by The Salvation Army’s Brisbane City Temple Brass Band.
“Her Australasian credits include Grizabella in Cats, Ellen in Miss Saigon, Donna in Mamma Mia!, Lady Thiang in The King and I, Florence in Chess, and Clara in Passion.”
Ms Paladino said: “I’ll be sharing with you music from my life in musical theatre as well as songs that have inspired me on my own spiritual journey.”
Ms Paladino’s first theatrical role was Eponine in the Australasian tour of Les Misérables. She was then invited to perform the same role in the London production.
In 1997, she returned to London to perform as Fantine in Les Misérables for a successful two-year season.
Ms Paladino has also performed for celebrated theatre composers, Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz. Her own recordings include Silvie Paladino Sings Streisand, Silvie Paladino – Christmas List, On My Own, and her most recent, When You Believe, recorded with The Salvation Army’s Melbourne Staff Band.
Ms Paladino will be performing live on Saturday 12 September 2015 at 3:00pm and 7:00pm at The Salvation Army Brisbane City Temple, 167 Ann Street, Brisbane.
