Scales & Tails 2016 Reptile Expo

The 8th annual Scales & Tails 2016 Reptile Expo is heading to the Brisbane Showgrounds in March. There will be live venomous reptile shows throughout the day, reptile and mammal demonstrations, reptile displays, sales and product stalls, book shops, veterinarians, face painting, fairy floss, Best In Show competition and two very special guests all the way from the USA – zoologist, arachnid specialist & UrbanJunglesRadio host Danny Mendez (US), handler & breeder Tom Crutchfield (US) who supplied the reptiles for the first two Indiana Jones films, and world renowned wildlife conservationist, author and amphibian expert Romulus Whitaker (US/India) who won an Emmy for his National Geographic documentary on the natural history of the King Cobra.

Danny, Tom and Romulus will be joined by our own local snake wrangler Steve Castell, event organiser and creator of the popular Scales & Tails Magazine. Steve lives just outside Brisbane amongst his own collection of over 80 snakes including five of the top ten most venomous snakes in the world.

Previous years have seen thousands of reptile and amphibian enthusiasts flock to this mecca of herpetological delights, getting up close and personal with snakes, crocodiles, turtles, lizards, scorpions and spiders.
