Redcliffe Festival of Sails

Suttons Beach becomes a simmering seaside carnival on Good Friday as the Redcliffe Festival of Sails kicks off the Easter long weekend.  Boasting in excess of one hundred quality market and gourmet food stalls plus endless entertainment, the festival is guaranteed to cater to the tastes of all punters.  Watching the sails of the Brisbane to Gladstone Yachts as they pass by is a true highlight of the festival - but the parachuting Easter Bunny and Easter Egg Hunt are certain to have the kids giddy for days.

If you’re eager to get a head start on the school holiday activities, look no further than the numerous activities that wind along the beach.   From camel rides to kite flying; a giant aqua park; come 'n' try outrigger canoes; plus a huge sand sculpture and sand sculpting workshops with world famous Sandman.

Get fit with Bio Beach Volleyball; the Snap Fitness beach tug of war; enjoy free beach games, a Punch and Judy Puppet Show; the Great LEGO Building Challenge, Rainbow Activities, face painting and workshops including kite making, puppet making and fun crafts.   The kids can pool their pocket money to climb the rock wall, jump on the bungy trampoline or ride the amusement rides. Mum and Dad won’t miss out either as the African drumming, volleyball and sand-sculpture workshops run throughout the day.

Be treated to roving entertainment from stilt-walking water maidens to hula-hooping beach belles, or settle down in one of the several entertainment areas to enjoy the likes of the Steven Jaymes Band, Juke Box Heroes, Juzzi Smith and Dave Johnson. In addition to this, the Fretfest Singer Songwriter Showcase returns with an abundance of young talent.

Entry to the festival is free with free parking and shuttle service from Redcliffe Showgrounds, Scarborough Rd, Redcliffe to the Marine Parade festival site every 15 minutes .
