Open Frame: Francisco Lopez
Spain’s Francisco López is internationally recognized as one of the major figures in sound art and the experimental music scene.
For more than thirty years he’s collected raw sound from all sources and transformed them into unexpected and compelling soundscapes. López invites you to be blindfolded and enter his consuming sound world, submerged in complete darkness.
López has created and curated sound and music installations and events internationally at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals and venues including Sonar, All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival, Olympia Festival, P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center (New York), London Institute of Contemporary Arts, Paris Museum of Modern Arts, Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Arts and Sofia Museum of Modern Art.
Also performing is Melbourne’s Angel Eyes, whose work for labels like Not Not Fun and Bedroom Suck has brokered a new perspective on song – dark, rich and at times utterly haunting. Current Brisbane resident Heinz Riegler also takes the stage, launching a new edition of his divergent instrumentals.
