Music talk at SLQ - Jazz: the ongoing revolution

From the hot sounds of New Orleans, to the cool hybrid forms of the contemporary era, discover the many facets of jazz, and how it influences our lives today in a free panel discussion at State Library of Queensland.

Neville Myers, President Queensland Jazz Archive and Lecturer in Jazz History at the Queensland Conservatorium facilitates a conversation with Lynette Irwin, Artistic Director of the inaugural Brisbane International Jazz Festival, musician and jazz time-traveller Tony Ashby, and swing era devotee Barry Ralph.

This event is part of a full day min-festival at State Library of Queensland celebrating All That Jazz. Stick around after the talk for live music, dancing and much more.

This event is part of State Library’s “Live! Queensland Band Culture” program, celebrating the soundtrack of our state through live performances, exhibitions and events. For more info on program, visit or download the free SLQ Live! app from Google Play and The App Store.

Please note: to book for this event you need a Live! Second Saturday: All That Jazz ticket. This ticket gives you access to every event happening as part of the mini-festival.
