Murder and Mayhem - Royal Historical Society of Queensland Seminar
The Royal Historical Society of Queensland (RHSQ) is holding a special seminar on Saturday 29 August 2015 featuring two historically puzzling murders which occurred in Brisbane, namely the Betty Shanks murder and the Brisbane Arcade murder. Another strange murder to be discussed is that of Patrick Halligan in Rockhampton in 1869. Added to this is a talk on the infamous Kenniff bushrangers and the opening of our new display of archaeoloical artefacts recovered from the convict-built wall at 115 William Street which collapsed in 2011 due to a burst water main. These date from the 1850s-1880s and include clay pipes, bottles and numerous other items.
$20 (RHSQ members); $25 (non-members) - includes light refreshments. For catering purposes please RSVP by 26 August 2015
