Mother & Me

August 2012 marks the 10th year of exhibitions for renowned creative duo, outback painter Lyn Barnes and celebrated opal jeweller Alan Thomson.

This year, the artists have decided to make the connection between city and country stronger by offering an educational program to local students called Mother & Me.

The event has been designed to encourage mothers (and fathers) to enjoy an evening out with their teenage children.

Parents and children will be able to speak with Lyn and Alan in a private setting, surrounded by a display of stunning art
and opal reflecting the arid landscapes that inspire the creative pair.

All proceeds will go to Brisbane Youth Services (BYS) who that night is holding an inaugural Raise Your Roof fundraising campaign.
