January School Holidays Program: Girl Shaped Flames

Fire up 2019 with a suite of inspiring, engaging and confidence-building events for girls in high school (Grades 7-12), connecting them with Extraordinary Women across a variety of industries:



Fri Jan 18 – The Coterie – 4:30 – 6pm

FREE for Members, $30 for non-members


Featuring special guests from Peppermint Magazine, Gilimbaa (indigenous design agency) & NICO (Brisbane’s own fashion brand).  Each session provides a relaxed setting for interaction between Girl Shaped Flames and our special guests, who will answer questions and lead discussions around ‘finding your passion’.



Mon Jan 21 – SAE Institute – 2-4pm

FREE for Members, $30 for non-members


Led by the President of the Women in Film and TV QLD, Katrina Irawati Graham, January’s workshop is certainly not just for film enthusiasts, nor just for ‘creative people’. This workshop will dive into how women and girls are portrayed in the media as well as provide a fun way to explore and experiment with how you express yourself through words!



Wed Jan 23 – Khemistry, New Farm – 9am – 2pm

$50pp ($25 for members) incl. M/Tea & Lunch


We can’t wait to take you behind-the-scenes of one of Brisbane’s best creative digital agencies, Khemistry, in this awesome all-day experience.  Suss out what it means to pursue a career in digital communication, media or advertising, with an info session, interactive Q&A with senior women from different key departments, a tour of the facilities and engaging workshops (plus a yummy lunch!)

Hollywood stunt artist and survival expert Ky Furneaux will premiere her exclusive new web series Girl On Fire featuring three incredible young girls from around QLD who are pushing their own barriers with astounding success.
