Harold Keilly Park Kids Pest Fishing Competition

Grab the kids and save the date For the Harold Keilly Park Kids Pest Fishing Competition on 4th May 2019.

Come along and help reduce pest fish numbers at Harold Keilly Park, with your chance to win great prizes and learn about the impact these fish have on our wateray.

Kids only! Bring your kids along to help catch tliipia and other Pest fish. There will be plenty of prizes and the lucky door prize will be a kayak.

Brisbane City Council, Freshwater Fish Stocking Association of Qld will be on hand to help on the day. Food & drinks will be available for purchase. Bald Hills Scouts will be running a couple of raffles and manning the coffee station.

Worms will be available for purchase on the day. Profits from worms and registration fee will be used to restock native species in the lake.

The event will be strictly managed under a Biosecurity Queensland pest fishing permit through fishing event managment group 2 Bent Rods, to create awareness of noxious fish species and their impact on the local biodiversity.

There will be education sessions provided on the pest species during registration for the event, as well as trained helpers to assist you to correctly dispose of catches.

Registration is essential.

Limited number of rods will be available for hire for a gold coin donation to FFSAQ.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Fishing is only permitted on regulated fishing education days.
Fishing is NOT permitted at any other time. Bread is not be used as bait as it is detremental to other wildlife.
This is a drug & alcohol free event, no single use plastic bottles permitted on site.
