Free community event in Brisbane on World Psoriasis Day
Psoriasis Australia is holding a free public event in Brisbane on the 29 October 2011 (World Psoriasis Day), to raise awareness of the condition and provide information to people who may be living with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis in silence – helping them get back their confidence.
Come along and meet Emma Cam – Miss Universe Australia finalist and winner of Channel 7’s Beauty and the Geek – who will be sharing her own story of living with psoriasis and how it impacts her career in the public spotlight.
You will also have the opportunity to hear from Brisbane dermatologist Dr Shobhan Manoharan, who will discuss current approaches to managing psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
The event will also include a specific focus on the significant impact psoriasis can have in the workplace. To mark World Psoriasis Day, Psoriasis Australia is calling for Brisbane based employers to provide increased support for people with psoriasis, providing them with greater flexibility to manage their condition while maintaining productivity.
The first 50 people who attend will also receive a 50% discount on Psoriasis Australia membership.
