DREAMS OF ANOTHER LAND – BOOK LAUNCH WITH PETER KENNY
World’s biggest Tolkien fan living the dream
Ever since Peter Kenny was given a J.R.R. Tolkien book for his birthday back in the 70s, the former teacher has had a Middle Earth obsession. That obsession has led him to write a book of Middle Earth poetry ‘Dreams of Another Land’. With a collection of 1000 pieces of Lord of the Rings memorabilia, including over 100 copies of The Hobbit in 24 languages, Peter soon earned the title “the world’s biggest Tolkien fan”. The fact that he often likes to dress as a Hobbit may also have something to do with the nickname!
Determined to share his Hobbit passion, Peter is launching his Middle Earth inspired poems on October 1st. Peter says the book had its beginnings in the classroom while he was reading The Hobbit to his students. “I would encourage them to write stories and poems about characters and imagined lands inspired by Tolkien. I often gave them examples I had written and some of those poems I’ve included in my book.’’
Peter invites everyone to come along to his book launch and live the Tolkien dream with him.
