Coeliac Queensland Health Seminar

Not sure whether or not you should be on a gluten free diet? Find out more about gluten free, coeliac disease and fructose malabsorption at Coeliac Queensland’s Health Seminar.

Well renowned experts Dr Sue Shepherd, Advanced Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Dr Jason Tye-Din, gastroenterologist, will provide informative presentations and address questions on coeliac disease and the gluten free diet.

Whilst at least 1 in 100 people have coeliac disease, it is estimated that between 10% and 20% of people in Australia now follow a gluten free diet for various reasons.

Dr Sue Shepherd is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist who specialises in the treatment of dietary intolerances such as coeliac disease, fructose malabsorption, lactose intolerance and irritable bowel syndrome.

Sue was diagnosed with coeliac disease herself whilst undertaking her Masters Degree to become a dietitian. Since being diagnosed with coeliac disease, Sue has maintained a strong commitment to educating people with special dietary needs. She has won many professional awards, and has written seven cookbooks of which the first three were self-published best-sellers.

Dr Jason Tye-Din has contributed to the development of the "coeliac vaccine" and is currently undertaking several research projects aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of coeliac disease and the quality of life for both children and adults.
