City2South 2013
This year the inaugural Brisbane Times City2South – sister event to Sydney’s iconic City2Surf and Melbourne’s City2Sea – will take place on Sunday, June 16.
More than 10,000 entrants are expected to take part including elite runners, joggers, pram-pushers and walkers from across Queensland. Athletes of all levels are encouraged to get involved and enjoy the stunning views and live music along the spectacular 14km course.
Runners will be joined by a number of high profile ambassadors including Premier Campbell Newman, Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, Bondi Rescue’s Trent ‘Maxi’ Maxwell and running legend Pat Carroll.
The race will start on Alice Street at the Botanic Gardens in the CBD, head along George Street and then across the river and past GOMA. It then crosses over the Go Between Bridge to join Coronation Drive passing through the University of Queensland and then back across the river and up Highgate “Heartbreak” Hill, finishing in South Brisbane.
The Brisbane Times City2South aims to raise $500,000 for more than 400 charities. Participants are encouraged to run for a cause close to their hearts and get behind the fundraising initiative.
Special launch offer entries are $45 for adults ($35 for children and $10 for under fives), available until April 12. Early bird entries will be $55 for adults ($45 for children and $10 for under fives).Registrations after May 11 will be available for $70 ($55 for children and $10 for under fives).
