Casting Call

Occurs every week on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday

Casting Call is a contemporary metalsmithing exhibition showcasing ten emerging jewellers from the Queensland College of Art. Predominantly through the use of lost wax casting, Casting Call features an array of beautifully hand crafted jewellery and small objects.

The artworks featured in Casting Call are small in size but their messages are vast. Casting call reflects on a plethora of contemporary issues facing today’s society. The artworks question what we perceive as today’s norms, from politics and hierarchal structures to the beauty and destruction of the natural world.

Artists: Simone Linssen, Veronica Silva, Rachel Matthews-Fredricks, Rebecca Bailey, Monique Tregenza, Sarah Gillow, Rebecca White, Peter McGhie, Susan Hawkins, Tegan Rhynne.
