Bruce Mathiske: Guitar Maestro
Described as “The Authentic Guitar Virtuoso” by The Sydney Morning Herald, Bruce Mathiske’s music incorporates many rhythms and moods.
Delicate harmonics, notes exploding from both hands, the tenderly caressed; such words describe the rhythmic virtuosity of this guitar maestro.
Bruce’s live sets are famous for his ability to play bass, rhythm and melody simultaneously. With the inclusion of the didgeridoo, this concert is sure to transport you to another place.
Bruce amazes with the diversity from what essentially is a piece of wood with six strings. His use of the guitar to become it’s own orchestra and encompass a huge range of genres from swing to Latin, Jazz to African, Folk to flamenco, gypsy to ambient/landscape simultaneously playing didgeridoo and more.
Bruce has spent his life travelling the world, most recently as the ‘Rhythm Hunter’ making music documentaries. It’s through these travels that he has found the diverse colours of music and rhythms from all over the globe and fused them into a diverse and unique style that is all his own.
Join Bruce on this journey crowned by infectious rhythms and fiery fretwork from far flung corners of his guitar.
