Black Faggot

It’s not easy being young, Samoan and gay – especially when God and your mother are watching.

The hilariously funny Black Faggot was a massive hit at Auckland Fringe and won the 2013 Innovation in Theatre Award in a sold-out run at Melbourne Fringe.

Colourful characters collide in a series of hilarious and poignant monologues set in New Zealand’s migrant Pacific Islander communities. Meet the undercover brother desperate to prove he’s straight, a butch Samoan homo who’s out, proud and not afraid to say so and an island mama whose beloved son turns out to be queer.
