August Resident: Laneway

Occurs every week on Friday

They’re fresh, they’re free and they’re moving in. Kick off your weekend with the cool sounds of our monthly live music residents on Friday nights from some of the best Indie-Pop/Alt Country bands around Australia. Each band will have an entire month to capture the hearts of Brisbane music lovers with a set every week. In August, we have soulful country-tinged, folk-surf duo Laneway, who have returned to Queensland after a stint in Melbourne. Shortlisted for Queensland’s most prestigious song writing award, The Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship, last year, Laneway will charm you with their “gorgeous mytho-poetic songwriting” (The Beat Magazine), telling stories that feel instantly familiar yet distinctly unique.
