7th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art

APT7 marks the 20th anniversary of the series - the only recurring exhibition internationally to present the contemporary art of Asia, the Pacific and Australia. APT7 will feature new and recent work by 75 artists and artist groups from 27 countries throughout the region, ranging from internationally-renowned senior artists to young and emerging artists.

Highlights of APT7 will include the first major focus on artists from West Asia; works by young generations of Indonesian and Vietnamese artists; new work from a group of seven Australian artists; and the most significant representation yet of contemporary work from Papua New Guinea.

The 20th anniversary of APT presents an opportunity to reflect on the unprecedented transformations that have occurred in the visual arts in Australia, Asia and the Pacific over the past two decades.

The groundbreaking Kids' APT will also premiere interactive art works and installations.

With over a decade of experience, the Queensland Art Gallery Children's Art Centre is a leader in providing contemporary art for contemporary kids. The Children's Art Centre presents a range of programs, enabling children and families to engage with the Queensland Art Gallery's Collection and major exhibitions. The groundbreaking Kids' APT will premiere interactive art works and installations.
