2014 Buddha Birth Day Festival
Iconic Buddha celebrates 18th Birthday in South Bank...
Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine smelling the glorious fragrance of rows and rows of fresh carnations and chrysanthemums while in the background you hear the delightful harmonies of voices chanting. Your mind, relaxed and tranquil is at peace with the world. Now slowly open your eyes to the warmth of hundreds of candles glowing in the dark. The red lanterns catch your attention and you realise you are not on some mythical mountaintop but in the heart of a bustling city.
Welcome to the 18th annual celebration of the Buddha Birth Day Festival in the Parklands, South Bank.
In the Year of the Horse, this three-day Iconic Event of Queensland and Signature Event of Brisbane celebrates Australia’s harmonious diversity, providing visitors with a wonderfully rich and memorable cultural experience.
