100 Songs - Call For Applications
The Queensland University of Technology's Independent Music Project (IMP) is calling for applications for the 100 Songs project. In conjunction with Sounds Like Brisbane, Triple J, 4ZZZ, MGM, EMI Music Australia, QMusic and Arts QLD, the IMP is looking for around 50 of Brisbane's best independent bands and songwriters to attempt a world first: recording 100 songs in 100 hours.
The Sounds Like Brisbane (SLB) label collective will select artists to be involved in the event and will also select new and emerging artists to be showcased and mentored by the labels.
The project will focus local, national, and international attention on Brisbane's best independent music and help identify and promote exciting new talent.
The event will be broadcast nationally on Triple J and locally on 4ZZZ, and a compilation CD of the best songs from the event will be selected by a panel of representatives from MGM, EMI, QUT, and, Q Music. It will be released and distributed internationally by MGM.
