Leaders in Latin dance

When it comes to Latin dance tuition in Australia, Rio Rhythmics are the pioneers.

Considered the “birthplace” of Latin dance in Australia, Rio Rhythmics has taught more than 35,000 Australians since opening in 1994. We are not only Brisbane’s largest Latin dance academy, we are the largest in Australia – providing an unparalleled breadth and depth of tuition.

Our unique and successful Latin dance program is the culmination of many years of intensive research, teaching and development, not to mention our highly experienced instructors and personalised approach to instruction. We pride ourselves on taking students from absolute basics to complex steps and variations.

At Rio Rhythmics we believe it’s not just about learning certain moves – it’s about feeling the passion and energy that makes up the dances. For this reason, our classes include a focus on the culture in which each style is from.

Our full-time teaching team is from South America, and all other instructors have either trained extensively there or studied under our native-born teachers.

For those keen to develop their dancing skills to the highest level, we offer performance opportunities at corporate, community and private events.

Rio Rhythmics also hosts regular functions, such as our very popular Latin dance parties and Tango Milongas. These are a great opportunity for students and the general public to dance and mingle in a non-smoking and alcohol-free social setting. These events are a perfect way to experience Latin dance in a friendly, non-competitive environment.
