The Nightingale & the Rose
Occurs every week on Thursday, Friday & Saturday
Inspired by Victorian story books, three artists across film, music and shadow-puppetry investigate Oscar Wilde’s parable of love vs. knowledge amongst the historic ruins of The Brisbane Powerhouse.
Deep Blue and Ghost Boy musician, Richard Grantham provides a haunting live soundtrack to this tragic morality tale; as film artist Belinda McCulloch and director Jennifer Bismire blur the lines between shadow-puppetry and film.
Fascinated with the resurgence of the old and the possibility of the new, this group of artists discover new ways to tell this 125 year old short-story of a little bird and her love.
