SOLD OUT DANCE THEATRE SPECTACULAR RETURNS

Following the, award-winning sell out season at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2007, Polecats returns to theatres across Australia to showcase a breathtaking and unique marriage of contemporary dance, ballet and pole dancing.

Created by respected Artistic Director, Cathy Adamek, Polecats mixes elements of physical theatre and burlesque cabaret to create a stylishly choreographed and visually spectacular performance.

It was a chance visit to an Adelaide strip club in 2005 that inspired Ms Adamek to reinterpret pole dancing and challenge perceptions. The integration of classical dance and acrobatic skills create an original and wildly impressive show that will have audiences in awe.

“Pole dancing is an art form that has achieved world recognition as a competitive sport with massive creative potential. This unique style of dance combined with original choreography, costume and sound design is a truly once-off experience,” Ms Adamek said.

This stand out show proves that there is much more to pole dancing than meets the eye. The remarkable physicality of the routines showcases the strength, flexibility and endurance of the performers.

“Polecats celebrates the freedom of human movement and by doing so sends a strong message about female empowerment. It symbolises women as free – mid flight using their own upper body strength to do complex moves” Ms Adamek said.
