Brisbane Primary Schools

There are many options for parents enrolling their children into Brisbane Primary Schools. You can choose to send your child to study at a state or private school. Many of the independent/ private schools are run by religious organisations like the Anglican or Catholic Church but there are several that are non denominational. All state primary schools (all state schools in general, actually) are non denominational and almost all are co-ed.

In 2007 Queensland introduced the Prep system so that children who reach the age of 5 before June can begin their Prep year. This has been introduced instead of preschool to help initiate children earlier into the school system. Queensland Primary schools now start at Prep and finish at Year 7 (in 2014 primary school will ennd in Year 6).
